Lung lobe torsion of the right middle lung lobe with mild bilateral pleural effusion.

Mild and compensated left and right atrial enlargement, likely secondary to the diagnosed hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy.

Surgical resection of the right middle lung lobe after initial stabilization advised.

The cat underwent exploratory thoracotomy and a right middle lung lobe lobectomy. The patient recovered well. The etiology of the spontaneous lung lobe torsion was not determined.
